Wetinim by Zahir Borhan (My Homeland)

I am procrastinating very hard right now. But notice the giant ZB stitched onto the front and back of his bedazzled leather jacket? And the leather pants? Iconic.

Wetinim

Yene men, söygüge kömüldüm
Yene men, köz-yashqa chömüldüm
Ne qalay eziz wetinim
Séningdiken méning jénim
Yene men, baghringda söyüldüm

Yene men, topanggha milendim
Yene men, téshingda bilendim
Ne qalay eziz wetinim
Séningdiken méning yiltizim
Yene men, sipingge qétildim

Teghdirim méni tashlighan idi
Sendinmu bek yiraqlargha
Özemge yat, her qirghaqlargha

Közümde yash, dilimda söygü
Tilimda küy, qolumda tupraq
Baqqan idim telmürüp sanga
Ey weten

Chusensem mana emdi
Séningdiken méning qedrim
Shunga séning yalqunungda
Köyer iken méning qelbim

Meyli méni qaysi hijran
Yighlatsimu, qaysi teqdir
Séning bilen tesellidur bu yürek

Yene men, söygüge kömüldüm
Yene men, köz-yashqa chömüldüm

My Homeland

And I have been buried in love
And I have been bathed in tears
Where should I go, my dear homeland?
My life is with you
And I have been loved in your bosom

And I have been immersed in your dirt
And I have been sharpened on your stones
Where should I go, my dear homeland?
My roots are with you
And I have joined your ranks

My fate had thrown me
To places far from you
To many borders foreign to me

With tears in my eyes, with love in my soul
With odes on my tongue, with soil in my hands
I had looked to you with longing
Oh, my homeland

If I understand now
My value is with you
Therefore, in your blaze
My heart burns

No matter whichever farewell
makes me cry; whatever my fate
My heart is consoled with you

And I have been buried in love
And I have been bathed in tears…
