Anxiously Procrastinating

Just beyond the horizon a tsunami awaits, but right now there is barely any water on the beach and, like an unaware tourist, I stare in wonder at the naked seabed and marvel at the anxious silence. Experience with the unexpected tells me to run but I am frozen and calm in my invisible coffin. There is a nagging feeling in a dusty corner of my chest, one that wants to become a hurricane that will attempt to fight the tsunami… but it is constantly put off by curiosities that shine in the corners of my eyes. Soon, soon it will be forced to come out in order to survive. But for now..? What am I waiting for
